Position: Shipping Clerk

Stabilus stands as a premier entity in the manufacturing of gas springs and dampers across the globe. Our innovative products cater to a diverse range of sectors, including automotive, office furniture, solar technology, medical devices, and various industrial applications.

Role Summary:

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments in accordance with specific customer requirements. This position operates on a standard schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with potential opportunities for weekend overtime. The role is based at our corporate headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience in pulling, labeling, scanning, and processing orders is essential.
  • Proficiency in SAP for managing movement transactions and scanner data is required.
  • Effective communication with final assembly teams to ensure accurate daily shipments.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment, emphasizing teamwork.
  • Demonstrate motivation to work independently and efficiently.
  • Willingness to learn various warehouse roles to support team operations.
  • Regular email communication regarding order status with customer service representatives and warehouse personnel.

Qualifications:

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a fast-paced warehouse setting is preferred.
  • At least 6 months of experience operating order pickers, forklifts, and turret trucks; certification in material handling equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to identify customer-specific parts and prepare them accordingly.
  • Strong attention to detail and capability to resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Good attendance and reliability are essential.
  • Must learn to operate docking tractors and maneuver trailers.
  • Basic math skills and effective communication with supervisors and team members are necessary.
  • Availability for weekend work and extended shifts as required.
  • Support for weekend inbound deliveries is expected.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of warehouse processes, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Good computer skills; experience with warehouse systems and RF scanners is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with inventory control methods, including FIFO, Cycle Counting, and KAN-BAN principles.
  • Knowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Effective communication skills are a must.

Reasoning and Mathematical Skills:

Strong reasoning abilities and basic mathematical skills are required.

Interaction with Others:

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including management.

Resourcefulness and Initiative:

Ability to perform tasks following established procedures, with most duties being routine in nature.

Work Environment:

  • Warehouse setting with continuous forklift operations.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, and bending throughout the shift.
  • Exposure to dust and varying weather conditions.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.
