Job Summary

Harrison County Hospital is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team in a PRN, Rotating Shift, Hours Vary position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform skin punctures to obtain blood specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Process test requisitions, charge, register, and order tests for outpatients.
  • Inform techs of stat and other timed or urgent testing.
  • Distribute and file test results and physician orders.
  • Telephone patients, physicians, and nursing units as required.
  • Process and handle specimens according to lab protocol.
  • Perform capillary testing and EKGs for outpatients.
  • Maintain neat and organized collection trays, collection areas, and work areas.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate with on-the-job training in a clinical laboratory.
  • One year experience preferred.
