Job Overview

The Cochlear Implant Audiologist will be responsible for assessing patient needs, evaluating cochlear implant candidacy, and providing ongoing management of cochlear implant patients. This role requires collaboration with Neurotology physicians, audiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients for cochlear implant candidacy, including aided and unaided sound-field testing.
  • Perform diagnostic testing for adult cochlear implant recipients, including intra-operative testing of electrode action potentials, routine impedance measurements, and MAPing adjustments.
  • Conduct a full range of diagnostic hearing and vestibular testing.
  • Evaluate the benefit of hearing aid use, including electroacoustic evaluation of the hearing aid, functional gain measures, and real-ear measurements with the hearing aid.
Requirements
  • Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) or equivalent.
  • Valid Mississippi audiology license or ability to obtain a license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in audiology, with a focus on cochlear implants preferred.
