Job Summary

The Critical Facility Technician (CFT) is a non-exempt position responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of mission-critical facilities. Reporting to the Critical Facility Manager, the CFT will interact effectively with customers to ensure high-quality work without impacting internal/external customers. The CFT will perform preventative maintenances, emergency/scheduled repairs, and vendor management of sub-contractors working in the facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform rounds and readings, logging status of technical and other equipment, trending results, and searching for discrepancies or abnormalities.
  • Understand electrical and mechanical components, including UPS, generators, batteries, transfer switches, air conditioning/handling units, controls monitoring systems, and fire alarm systems.
  • Read and interpret wiring/technical diagrams, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, job specifications, and MOP/SOP/EOPs.
  • Use hand tools, test equipment, and perform basic operations to perform MOP/SOP/EOPs, ensuring activities are logged into tracking systems.
  • Hold/obtain knowledge of electrical and mechanical theory, government regulations, etc.
Requirements
  • Technical education or equivalent 3+ years' experience in related environments.
  • Eligible for a security clearance.
  • Knowledge and experience using basic computer applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prolonged sitting or standing, lift or move objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
