Solar Technician Job Description

Origis Energy is a leading renewable energy and decarbonization solution platform, accelerating the transition to a carbon-free future. As a Solar Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and troubleshooting solar power plants to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain solar power plants in accordance with established standards and procedures, prioritizing safety and professionalism.
  • Troubleshoot system problems and resolve issues in a timely manner, utilizing digital multi-meters, meggers, and other equipment.
  • Perform daily mechanical and electrical inspections to ensure proper working order, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage inventory control, maintaining adequate stock levels of assigned equipment and materials.
  • Train and mentor laborers to develop their skills and knowledge, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with safety and plant requirements, participating in ongoing education and training programs.
  • Be available for on-call service, responding to emergencies and providing support as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Valid Driver's License
  • 3 years of suitable employment experience, demonstrating a strong work ethic and high aptitude.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with people at all levels.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical calculations, read and interpret electrical schematics, and manage priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 Lbs and perform necessary physical activity, with a strong commitment to safety and well-being.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening, with a clean driving record.
