**Job Summary:**
Busch Products, a premier employee-owned company, is seeking a skilled Solid Surface Fabricator/Carpenter to join our team in Syracuse. This full-time position offers a stable Monday-to-Friday schedule with opportunities for overtime and career growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine order specifications using blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine the characteristics of finished items, materials to be used, and machine setup requirements.
- Fabricate solid surface countertops using CNC machines.
- Operate hand and power sanders/tools to sand solid surface countertops.
- Visually inspect and examine final products for visual or surface defects.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and machines.
- Ensure the solid surface shop is cleaned up at the end of each shift prior to clocking out.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, construction, carpentry, or a related field is preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Some analytical ability to find solutions to various problems.
- Ability to follow systems and procedures.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret project drawings to ensure proper job setup.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Basic math skills.
Equipment and Machines Used:
- Power and hand tools, including CNC machines, routers, chop saws, table saws, band saws, grinders, and power sanders.
- Safety equipment: safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, dust mask.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel, push, pull, reach, crouch, bend, or kneel, climb, and perform repetitive motions of the hands and/or wrists.
- Minimum mental and visual attention required for performing highly routine, simple, rough, or closely directed work.
Physical Exertion:
- Exerts up to 80 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Environmental Conditions:
- Work is performed inside with exposure to noise, falling, fumes, odors, gases, or poor ventilation, oils, proximity to moving mechanical parts, or exposure to serious injury.
