Job Summary:
The Dixie Technical College is seeking an experienced and compassionate On-Call Adjunct Instructor to join our team of dedicated professionals in the Practical Nursing program. As an on-call instructor, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students and contribute to their growth and development in the field of nursing.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct students in accordance with classroom syllabi, curriculum, planned lab experiences, and lesson plans, providing feedback to full-time instructors on the effectiveness of training.
- Develop and execute active and diverse learning experiences that retain student interest and transmit information effectively, maintaining a structured learning environment.
- Communicate clear objectives and well-defined competencies for the program and all learning activities, ensuring the classroom and lab are prepared for daily learning activities.
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments in a timely manner, observing, evaluating, and recording student performance and development, providing appropriate feedback.
- Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing appropriate rules and procedures, involving full-time instructors as needed.
- Ensure student data is updated on a real-time basis in Northstar, maintaining integrity and confidentiality in all circumstances.
- Adhere to safety standards that comply with College, local, City, State, and Federal guidelines, modeling a professional environment for students.
- Be an active and participative member of the program's instructional team, ensuring the program follows all guidelines and conditions necessary to meet COE accreditation standards.
- Assist with biannual Occupational Advisory Committee (OAC) meetings as requested, if applicable.
- Comply with Dixie Tech Policies and Procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in industry required.
- Active RN License required.
- BSN preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong communications and presentation skills.
