Job Overview

SUMMARY: As a Store Manager at MAPCO, you will oversee all facets of your store's personnel and operations. Your role will focus on enhancing store profitability and managing inventory effectively. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage daily store operations, including recruiting top talent, training, and developing your team while enhancing store profitability.
  • Foster a culture that prioritizes guest needs and embodies the principle of Convenience You Can TRUST.
  • Serve as a role model for team members by consistently demonstrating a high-energy, friendly demeanor to both team members and guests.
  • Proactively manage your P&L and inventory by identifying sales trends and implementing strategies to drive additional sales opportunities and maximize performance.
  • Create an organized, process-oriented environment.
  • Communicate company objectives to ensure that store team members understand how the company strategy integrates into their daily operations.
  • Establish clear expectations for team members, monitor results, and manage performance for ongoing improvement.
  • Effectively schedule team members to meet guest demand and deliver a superior experience while adhering to labor controls.
  • Develop a culture focused on superior guest service and operational excellence to meet MAPCO brand standards, emphasizing execution and resource management.
  • Exercise discipline to optimize results through efficient expense management and thorough planning.
  • Forecast and analyze business trends related to payroll, loss prevention, and controllable expenses to enhance store performance and profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a people-first mindset; every team member and guest deserves an excellent experience.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and managerial skills, including providing ongoing feedback to store associates regarding performance, recruiting, hiring, and performance management.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to simplify complex issues.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating energy, drive, and a focus on execution.
  • Manage work schedules within established budgets for optimal store coverage.
  • Strong business acumen is required.
  • A valid driver's license and satisfactory MVR are necessary.
  • Availability to be on call at all times.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • A High School diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of retail management experience in a similar environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, and sit. They frequently need to bend, squat, use hands to type data, operate business equipment, and lift up to 40 pounds. They are on call at all times and may work between 50 and 60 hours a week.
