Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

St. David's HealthCare is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's North Austin Medical Center in Austin, Texas.

Job Summary:

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care to expectant mothers and their families in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in obstetrics and gynecology, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized patient care to expectant mothers and their families, including prenatal, labor, and postpartum care.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and document patient responses to interventions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate discharge planning and teaching.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians, and document patient responses.
  • Provide psychological and social support to patients and their families.
Requirements:
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - preferred
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy
