Job Summary
Ocean Science Trust seeks a highly qualified and experienced Director of Ocean Science and Climate Adaptation to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in climate science, social science, or a related field, and a proven track record of successfully developing and implementing innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges.

About the Role
This is a senior leadership position that requires a collaborative and entrepreneurial leader who can work effectively with a cross-functional team to develop and implement new initiatives that inform state, local, and community efforts to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of sea-level rise, ocean acidification, and other changing ocean conditions. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the science and practice of climate adaptation, as well as policy processes and management approaches to ocean and coastal resources.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement new initiatives that inform state, local, and community efforts to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of sea-level rise, ocean acidification, and other changing ocean conditions
* Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop and implement new projects and initiatives
* Foster professional growth of staff and ensure ongoing program excellence, integrity, and transparency

Requirements
* 7+ years of substantive and relevant experience, preferably in climate science, social science, political science, public policy, natural resource management, or other relevant field
* Advanced degree in a related field
* Demonstrated success in fostering professional growth of staff and effectiveness in fundraising and managing relationships with funders
* Extensive knowledge of the science and practice of climate adaptation, as well as policy processes and management approaches to ocean and coastal resources
