We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Neurosurgery team at Ascension Seton. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will provide direct patient care and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Pediatric Neurosurgery unit, including assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, including communicating with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, medication administration, and other relevant data to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, including teaching them about their condition, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) with a minimum of one year of experience in a pediatric or neurosurgery setting.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Experience working in a pediatric or neurosurgery setting.
- Neurology or pediatric nursing experience.
- Certification in a relevant specialty, such as pediatric or neurosurgery nursing.
