Position Overview:
The Nurse Practitioner in Employee Health is responsible for conducting thorough physical examinations and comprehensive health assessments. This role involves documenting medical histories, performing selective diagnostic tests, and interpreting clinical findings. The Nurse Practitioner provides diagnoses, medical consultations, and fundamental healthcare treatments to employees within the organization. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals is essential to determine the most appropriate treatment options.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of relevant technical experience is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensure in the state of practice is required.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement health promotion, illness/injury prevention, and therapeutic plans aligned with the client's diagnosis or health needs. Serve as a liaison by communicating necessary information for continuity of care to other health professionals and agencies.
- Initiate treatment for patients with common health issues within the nurse practitioner's scope of practice, utilizing a systematic approach to patient history and physical assessment through clinical judgment of evaluated data. Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations and assist in providing select onsite immunizations and screenings.
- Deliver anticipatory guidance, screening, and health education to patients to promote and maintain health. Monitor patients with stabilized long-term or chronic conditions, providing support to individuals and their families.
- Assist in developing and implementing onsite educational programs on topics such as obesity treatment and smoking cessation. Educate patients/employees about preventive care and prescribed treatments. Refer injured employees to approved workers' compensation physicians for treatment and monitoring.
- Develop or lead training sessions on subjects like infectious diseases, chemical exposure, and the use of personal protective equipment. Document training efforts and assess the effectiveness of programs through post-training evaluations. Contribute to enhancing employee awareness regarding health.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Compensation:
The estimated base pay for this position ranges from $132,384 to $198,577. Additional individual compensation may be available based on years of experience, differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is just one component of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
