Phlebotomy Specialist

As a Phlebotomist at Adventist Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services. Your primary responsibility will be to collect and process patient specimens for diagnostic testing, while maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction and safety.

• Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture and fingerstick techniques
• Verify specimen identification and appropriateness for testing
• Process samples using aseptic technique and prepare required paperwork for testing
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other departments to facilitate the flow and quality of lab work
• Monitor and maintain equipment as needed, following established guidelines
• Assist in ordering supplies and coordinating with the Lead Phlebotomist to run quality controls and perform proficiency testing

• High School Education/GED or equivalent required in California; preferred in Oregon and Hawaii
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience preferred
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required in California; preferred in Oregon and Hawaii
