Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient examinations and treatments under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider.
- Interview patients, take vital signs, and record information on patient charts.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Perform basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and scheduling patients.
- Assist with ordering and stocking of supplies and perform basic materials management functions.
- Document patient encounters, including diagnoses, symptoms, and follow-up instructions.
- Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Wisconsin ONLY - High School diploma or equivalent and graduate of accredited school of medical assisting.
- No experience required.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) certification required.
- One of the following certifications: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Clinical medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) - American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Allied Health Association (AAH), Medical Assistant Certification (MAC) - American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) - National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Association of Medical Personnel (AAMP), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Medical Technologists (AMT), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA).
