In collaboration with the University of Arizona, the Division of Pediatric Surgery at Banner - University Medical Group Tucson is actively seeking a dedicated tenure-eligible Assistant/Associate Professor of Pediatric Surgery to deliver a comprehensive range of services at its state-of-the-art medical facility. Ideal candidates should be enthusiastic, proactive individuals who will cultivate collegial and collaborative relationships with various stakeholders within the Pediatric Surgery division. The Division of Pediatric Surgery offers a vibrant environment that provides extensive surgical and medical care for our patients. The Department of Surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson is on the lookout for exceptional academically inclined tenure-eligible Pediatric Surgeons. Our pediatric surgical team is dedicated to offering world-class, comprehensive, and compassionate care for children. The available positions include opportunities to contribute to the growth and development of fetal surgery clinical and research programs, which are unique to Arizona and the Southwest. Additionally, there is a chance for faculty members interested in pursuing a basic science career, allowing them to integrate into the existing Pediatric Surgery research program while also developing their own research initiatives with the support of extensive mentorship and resources available within the Department of Surgery and the broader academic community.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to establish a full-time clinical practice, educate residents and medical students, and engage in clinical and/or basic science research, including fetal surgery. The qualified individual will receive a faculty appointment at the University of Arizona commensurate with their qualifications.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a variety of pediatric general and specialized surgical procedures in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Manage pediatric general surgery outpatient clinics at multiple locations.
  • As a faculty member, participate in resident education and serve as a clinical mentor to medical students and residents through lectures, didactics, and clinical instruction.
  • Engage in committee service as required by the College of Medicine.
  • Be available for night and weekend on-call duties.
  • Conduct research relevant to academic medicine.
  • Provide care across a wide spectrum of pediatric surgical procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or eligible in Pediatric Surgery.
  • Demonstrated clinical and didactic teaching capabilities.
  • Proven experience in working with diverse patient populations.
