Job Title: International Tax Counsel/Senior Manager

Amazon is seeking an experienced International Tax Counsel/Senior Manager to join its team at its Seattle or Virginia Headquarters. The successful candidate will be responsible for focusing on U.S. international tax planning and documentation for both new initiatives and ongoing business launches/initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with business partners and members of the tax department to structure and understand transactions, restructurings, and business initiatives.
  • Ensure documented tax technical advice on the US and local country tax impacts of such activities to support reporting, compliance, and on-going tax controversy analysis.
  • Identify and manage tax and execution risks, and demonstrate a proven ability to think strategically while engaging in day-to-day tactical details.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, Legal, Treasury, and Systems, to communicate current and future business plans and ensure coordination and execution of cross-functional tax solutions.
  • Communicate complex tax concepts in meaningful and useful ways to non-tax professionals.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience.
  • Experience in taxation in a corporate environment, public accounting firm, or major law firm.
  • Experience managing other employees and leading international tax teams.
  • Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partnering well with people at all levels within an organization.
  • Experience with accounting concepts and tax regulations, laws, and standards.
  • Experience with tax modeling in Excel-based models or other similar programs.

Compensation: Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Additional Benefits: Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
