Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team in Waterbury, CT. As a Senior Level Technician, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, and complex mechanical inspections and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance
- Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
- Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Work unsupervised on most tasks
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
- Basic tools, required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
- All other certification as required by location, required
Benefits:
- Average Weekly Pay: $1200
- Hourly Pay: $30.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: Ryder Pays you up to $500 Every Quarter - Four Times Per Year
- Sign On Bonus: Ryder Pays You $1750 at 30 days and $1750 at 90 days
- $400.00 Yearly Tool Allowance
- Schedule: Monday - Friday Weekends OFF
- Hours: First Shift 7:00am - 3:30pm
