Job Summary

The Inventory Management Specialist will play a critical role in supporting and leading inventory, purchasing, and receiving teams at all Berco Redwood locations. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing inventory-related policies and best practices, including inventory tracking, counting, reporting, accuracy, loss prevention, transfers, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain accurate inventory reports to improve data integrity.
  • Oversee the cycle counting process to ensure accurate inventory levels and reconcile any shortages or overages.
  • Manage the process of supplier returns and communicate with vendors as necessary.
  • Ensure efficient special ordering processes and schedules.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing team to manage inventory levels.
  • Oversee the receiving team to ensure timely and accurate receipt of materials.
  • Conduct inventory adjustments and train inventory leads on correct procedures.
  • Perform root cause analysis on inventory variances and serve as the lead point of contact for inventory issues.
  • Maintain data and ERP systems for accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure Epicor is used to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Establish and track department key performance indicators.
  • Partner with operations and accounting to ensure complete and accurate inventory.
  • Audit company-wide inventory to support profitability, turns, and outages across all product categories and branches.
  • Develop and implement inventory reporting in accordance with industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • Five or more years of experience in inventory management.
  • Lumber yard experience preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience with LBM software, such as Epicor, is a plus.
  • Competent knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including proficiency in Excel.
