Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Operations Center Systems Engineer to join our team at Intelligent Waves. This is a full-time position based in Reston, VA.

About the Role

This role involves monitoring and maintaining mission-critical systems, enterprise services, and networking infrastructure across multiple physical locations and networks. As a Tier III technical support specialist, you will serve as the escalation point for resolving complex technical issues in operational network environments.

You will track and resolve system-wide issues by collaborating with engineering support teams, including network and systems engineering, catapult operations, and desktop engineering.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining critical Windows and Linux systems, ensuring operational availability and strong security postures through configuration, patching, and STIG compliance.

You will conduct firewall changes, troubleshoot and manage F5 iRules, update and manage DNS entries, and monitor port security and network systems using tools like SolarWinds.

Qualifications
  • Experience with IT systems administration and DoD IT security requirements
  • Ability to analyze and refine standard operating procedures
  • Strong background in virtualization technologies and managing Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Knowledge of vulnerability and STIG scanning tools

We offer a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience.
