Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at Marklund Day School. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering individualized instruction to students based on their unique needs, providing clear and consistent structure for the classroom, and drafting and monitoring IEPs for assigned students.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver individualized instruction to students based on their individual needs
  • Provide clear, consistent structure for the classroom, ensuring that the academic, social, and emotional needs of each student are met
  • Draft, create, and monitor IEPs for assigned students in the classroom
  • Supervise and provide feedback for paraprofessionals
  • Teach during our Extended School Year (ESY) program
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited college and have proper and current Illinois teaching credentials (PEL license)
  • Must include LBS1 and meet state guidelines for school accreditation
  • Experience in educating children with special needs is preferred
  • Ability to understand students' unique needs and react effectively to their needs
