Job Description for Industrial Pipe Rigger at Polis

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Pipe Rigger to join our team at Polis. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for setting up and repairing rigging for the movement of heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load Preparation: Inspect and prepare loads for movement, ensuring they are secure and properly configured.
  • Rigging Setup: Set up rigging equipment, including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts, to safely move heavy equipment.
  • Heavy Equipment Operation: Operate heavy equipment machinery to maneuver loads and ensure safe movement.
  • Rigging Inspection: Inspect rigging equipment before final use to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Maintenance: Monitor and maintain rigging equipment to prevent damage and ensure optimal performance.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with the rigging and construction team to ensure smooth operations and compliance with safety procedures.
  • Post-Rigging Inspection: Conduct thorough post-rigging inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure safety standards are met.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience as a rigger, with a strong background in heavy equipment operation and rigging.
  • Certifications: Minimum Level 1 NCCCO certification and familiarity with OSHA safety standards.
  • Skills: In-depth knowledge of rigging equipment and heavy machinery, excellent spatial awareness, and good communication skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work at heights, in noisy environments, and lift heavy equipment, with excellent physical fitness and endurance.
