Role Overview:
This position is client-facing and offers the chance to merge your service-oriented mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, and enthusiasm for cultivating a welcoming workplace culture. The Forklift Mechanic is responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for intricate manufacturing machinery, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems across a vast multi-million dollar campus.
This role necessitates collaboration with the Account Leadership team, clients, vendors, and operational support staff, thriving in a dynamic environment that requires managing multiple priorities. The ideal candidate will adeptly process and analyze information to fulfill client requirements while coordinating various facility activities and projects. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively are essential, as is the capacity to navigate high-pressure situations and consistently make sound, high-quality decisions.
Furthermore, this position demands a high level of critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and specialized communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance on forklifts.
- Analyze manufacturer’s technical manuals to execute necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Diagnose forklift issues, including brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems, identifying defects, potential hazards, and malfunctions.
- Repair mast and attachment components as needed.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of brake systems and tire/wheel replacements.
- Work on LP, gas, and diesel systems effectively.
- Replace defective parts from inventory or order parts for major repairs.
- Reassemble forklifts and make necessary adjustments for optimal performance and safety.
- Perform safety inspections of forklifts before returning them to operational status.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas as required.
- Ensure that work practices align with safety standards.
- Keep a tidy and organized workspace.
- Complete detailed service documents and logs for maintenance tasks.
- Stay updated with new technical information and industry trends.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of experience in a related field, particularly in maintaining various lift trucks.
- A solid foundation in mechanical skills and knowledge of industrial electricity is preferred.
- Detail-oriented, organized, adaptable, and willing to take on new challenges.
- Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Friendly, confident, and engaging demeanor.
- Customer-centric approach with a passion for service excellence.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of professional interaction.

- Ensure consistent business support aligns with service level agreements and meets Key Performance Indicators.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Identify risks within client facilities and work to minimize downtime.
- Implement and manage computerized maintenance management systems in line with JLL and client expectations.
- Adhere to all JLL work practices and compliance standards.
- Oversee compliance with environmental health and safety programs.
