Pharmacy Department Manager

Northwell Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Department Manager to lead our pharmacy team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the department's activities, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the department's activities, including supervising staff, coordinating interdepartmental and intra-departmental activities, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Develop, communicate, and build consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement approved policies and procedures using knowledge of related laws governing the profession and departmental goals and objectives.
- Supervise, hire, train, discipline, and evaluate the performance of staff; ensure performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
- Participate in hospital committees established to identify the needs of patients and the scope of pharmaceutical services required to meet those needs.
- Participate in department's Quality Assurance Coordinating Group and its initiatives.
- Coordinate pharmacy operations commensurate with the scope of services provided and the identified needs of patients.
- Recommends necessary space, equipment, and supplies in order for the department to provide quality and comprehensive services.
- Evaluate the scope of services provided and adequately schedules the pharmacy staff to provide those services effectively and in a timely manner.
- Analyze, recommend, implement, and monitor approved work-flow changes.
- Participate in determining adequate staffing levels.
- Bachelor of Pharmacy required.
- Current License to practice as a Pharmacist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
- 6-10 years of relevant experience and 5-7 years of leadership/management experience, required.
