- Transport patients throughout the hospital, providing support and assistance as needed.
- Assist with discharging patients, helping them get in and out of the car or mode of transportation.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Perform multiple tasks in an organized manner, prioritizing patient care and safety.
- Maintain clinical competency, adhering to the services provided, needs of age groups served, and scope of practice.
- Utilize a problem-solving approach to perform assigned duties, ensuring patient care is delivered with the highest level of quality.
- Provide services with consideration of the physical, psychosocial, cultural/spiritual, and age-specific needs of those served.
- Use equipment and supplies correctly, adhering to safety and infection control measures.
- Teach and inform others in an appropriate manner within the scope of practice.
- Report and record information correctly, including any changes in patient condition or abnormal findings.
- Maintain annual unit-specific mandatory competencies prior to expiration.
- Attend and complete required meetings, inservices, and competency validation activities.
- Maintain patient safety and security, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Preserve a culture of safety, utilizing safety measures at all times.
- Be proficient in computer skills to carry out secretarial duties and documentation of patient care.
- Complete all nursing assistant skills according to the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Completion of high school or its equivalent.
- Successful completion of the North Carolina Board of Nursing certified Nurse Aide II program.
- Current Nursing Assistant II listing with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Current Nursing Assistant I listing with the NC Division of Facilities Services Registry.
- Successful completion of a formal cross-training program regarding clerical duties.
