Position Summary

PRIMARY ROLE


The main role of a
Checkout Associate is to guarantee customer satisfaction by ensuring the accuracy of pricing for all products sold in the store, efficiently and promptly.

A
Checkout Associate also fosters customer loyalty by providing all customers with friendly, courteous, and patient service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are essential and must be performed regularly to meet company standards:

  • Greet, thank, and assist customers promptly and courteously.
  • Support colleagues, vendors, and customers in verifying prices.
  • Correct any items that are scanning incorrectly or not scanning at all.
  • Conduct validation procedures and shelf label audits, reporting any discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Print, organize, and display shelf labels and promotional signage.
  • Log all in-store promotions and updates accurately.
  • Compile, review, and distribute various reports as needed.
  • Perform daily inspections for product origin in relevant departments.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

To ensure exceptional service to our customers, the following tasks may also be required during slower periods or as directed by management:


  • Answer phone inquiries and assist customers and colleagues as necessary.
  • Support team members with online store promotions and technology usage.
  • Prepare and file various reports.
  • Conduct audits as needed.
  • Manage inventory and assist with stock organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

CUSTOMER SERVICE STANDARDS
All team members are expected to deliver outstanding service with a personal touch.

  • GREET all customers warmly.
  • HELP customers by being attentive and knowledgeable about products and services.
  • ENHANCE the shopping experience by engaging with customers and offering assistance.
  • THANK customers sincerely for their patronage.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work primarily indoors, which may be cold and dusty, with a high volume of customer interactions.
  • Occasionally work in colder areas during price adjustments.
  • Rarely work in warmer conditions when managing inventory.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Availability for shifts across all days of the week, including holidays, is expected.

EQUIPMENT UTILIZATION

  • Regular use of computers, printers, and other office equipment for report processing and communication.
  • Occasional use of cash registers and other tools for pricing and inventory management.

  • Standard safety protocols apply.
