We are seeking a dependable Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to manage all installation, repair, and maintenance operations within the company's Sugar Refinery. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that all team members have the necessary physical resources to perform their tasks efficiently and within budget. An exceptional facilities maintenance supervisor will possess a comprehensive understanding of Chemical and Food Processing Equipment, including Pumps, Valves, Boilers, and Heat Exchangers, as well as Automated Processes and CMMPs/EAPs, plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising the maintenance, repair, and installation of machinery and equipment.
  • Leading a diverse team of production employees, electricians, HVAC technicians, grounds staff, security personnel, and transportation staff.
  • Developing a preventive maintenance program in collaboration with engineering and maintenance teams.
  • Creating and implementing maintenance procedures, schedules, cost control strategies, and safety initiatives.
  • Collaborating with management, engineering, and quality control teams to address maintenance challenges and propose improvements.
  • Reviewing proposals for new equipment and planning for their installation.
  • Ensuring compliance with FDA, OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Establishing and maintaining a critical equipment database.
  • Addressing technical issues as they arise, including managing contractor safety control.
  • Setting up and overseeing a third-party maintenance contract program.
  • Ensuring optimal operations of facilities and equipment through effective management of technical support staff.
  • Defining spare parts requirements and maintaining adequate stock levels.
  • Developing a comprehensive technical documentation archive.
  • Managing maintenance resources as necessary.
  • Maintaining a work order and cost control system.
  • Participating in operations coordination meetings to align on work schedules and priorities.
  • Implementing preventive and predictive maintenance systems to mitigate failures and unscheduled outages.

Supplemental Pay:

Experience Required:

  • 5+ years in maintenance management or a similar role.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as ACE, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing.
  • Strong supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in planning maintenance operations.
  • Solid technical knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with facilities machinery and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Degree from a vocational school or a BSc/BA in business administration or facility management is required.
  • Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) certification is a plus.
  • Proficient in CMMS software.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
