Job Summary

As a Registered Professional Nurse with CHRISTUS Health, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care in our ICU MedSurgical A unit. Your expertise will be essential in assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, while also prescribing, delegating, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating patient teaching and the activities of ancillary nursing personnel.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Prescribe, delegate, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate patient teaching and the activities of ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Maintain professional nursing standards and provide direct and indirect care to patients.
Requirements
  • Education/Skills:
    • Graduate of a State Board School of Nursing or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • Twelve (12) months experience preferred.
  • Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
    • Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
    • AHA BLS – within two (2) weeks of employment.
    • Medication Competence – within two (2) weeks of employment.
    • Computer Competence- within four (4) weeks of employment.
    • A Medication Examination – within twelve (12) weeks of employment.
    • Basic Dysrhythmia (if applicable) – within twelve (12) weeks of employment.
    • TNCC- within six (6) months of employment if hired in MICU or Neuro ICU.
    • Critical Care Classes and Examinations – within sixteen (16) weeks of employment.
    • ACLs-within sixteen (16) weeks of employment.
    • Phlebotomy/Point of Care Competency-within four (4) weeks of employment.
