Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Meat Department Associate to join our team at Marukai Corp. As a key member of our store support team, you will be responsible for ensuring the Meat Department is stocked, rotated, and merchandised to meet our high standards of quality and freshness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stock and unpack meat products in a timely and efficient manner
  • Set up and maintain the condition of the Meat Department according to company standards
  • Ensure meat is handled, stocked, rotated, and merchandised to meet quality and freshness standards
  • Check product area temperature to ensure freshness and quality
  • Process and/or wrap meat items prior to filling designated areas
  • Cutting, labeling, and wrapping meat
  • Operating pallet jack, scissor lift, baler, compactor, and scrub machine
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the store and store upkeep
  • Cleaning and sanitizing work areas
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be 18 or older to use sharp knives, use ladders, scaffolds, or their substitutes, substitutes above 6 feet in height, and to operate or assist in operating power-driven machinery or equipment
  • Must be able to use job-related equipment such as slicer, scale, saw, knife, and wrapper
  • No experience required, but a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in a similar work environment is preferred
  • Experience as a Produce Clerk is preferred
  • Possess a CA Food Handling license or the ability to acquire one
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds without aid
Working Conditions

Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to equipment and work aides necessary to perform job duties. Hands are in frequent contact with water and various fruits and vegetables while performing job duties.
