Position Overview
The role involves overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS) for the Lyndhurst facility, which includes the formulation, execution, and regulation of all documented protocols and processes. The ideal candidate will manage and uphold all internal quality assessments (ISO9001 & IATF) and integrated management frameworks, handle internal and supplier Corrective Action Requests (CARs), and contribute to quality monitoring of Quality Incident Reports (QIRs) while engaging in problem-solving within Lyndhurst Operations.
In collaboration with site leadership, you will be accountable for the deployment of proactive Quality Management Systems (process-house) aimed at establishing Lyndhurst Operations as a benchmark for process and product excellence through ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and enhance all QMS-related procedures, including the initiation and optimization of such protocols. Implement corrective and preventive measures to ensure the continuous enhancement of the QMS.
- Establish and oversee all certification timelines and activities, including internal and external audits, as well as documentation reviews, to comply with ISO9001 & IATF16949 standards.
- Manage the internal and supplier CARs, including initiation, monitoring, follow-up, and closure of these requests. Generate Quality Notifications via SAP for related supplier CARs.
- Lead QIR discussions at the Lyndhurst facility, including investigations and associated corrective and preventive actions.
- Assist and/or lead continuous improvement initiatives, including SCIP teams, investigations, and problem-solving projects related to quality nonconformance.
- Provide management with regular updates regarding compliance status, specific action items, challenges, and opportunities. Monitor and report on the performance of the quality control organization.
- Control documentation of standard forms and procedures, as well as web-based SMS.
- Monitor scorecards for automotive clients through their portals, along with other relevant assessments and updates in their systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering; advanced degrees are advantageous.
- Familiarity with product quality standards for automotive manufacturers (8D reports, PPAP, Control Plan, FMEA, Process Flow, and PSW) and the ability to facilitate and/or coordinate training in continuous improvement practices to enhance manufacturing and distribution processes.
- Experience in implementing and maintaining a Quality Management System.
- Qualification as an internal auditor is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in the Chemical Manufacturing sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of Quality Management (ISO 9001 and IATF16949).
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Excel, MiniTab, etc.).
