Aerolab Inc is in search of a highly skilled candidate to take on the role of Senior Project Manager. This full-time position involves overseeing the planning, scheduling, forecasting, resource allocation, and management of project activities to guarantee accuracy, quality, and timely project completion. The Senior Project Manager will collaborate with a team dedicated to the design, manufacturing, construction, and installation of large-scale aeronautical wind tunnel facilities.
The ideal candidate must possess the ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects and exhibit exceptional project management and supervisory capabilities. Strong organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills are essential. Responsibilities include coordinating with general contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, fabricators, and project owners, whether Aerolab serves as a prime contractor, subcontractor, or independent supplier.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will be expected to:
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and monitor projects across the organization.
- Maintain an integrated master schedule for all projects.
- Establish priorities across various disciplines to align with the master schedule.
- Manage and supervise multiple project engineers involved in daily project activities.
- Coordinate with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams for scheduling and quality management.
- Define project parameters and oversee the project team.
- Supervise construction-related activities for Aerolab projects.
- Conduct quality control on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance, reporting on project status.
- Communicate effectively with management and project participants, collaborating with senior engineers to enhance project efficiency and profitability.
- Keep stakeholders informed of project progress and prepare regular progress reports.
- Create frameworks to assess project metrics.
- Determine necessary equipment, materials, and manpower.
- Ensure timely ordering and delivery of supplies and equipment.
- Guarantee project compliance with applicable codes, safety regulations, practices, policies, and performance standards.
- Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards.
The candidate should possess:
- Proficient interpretation of design specifications, drawings, and schematics.
- Familiarity with engineering and construction terminology.
- Extensive experience managing schedules and budgets for construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction materials and equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Procore.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office and word processing software.
- Excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic.
- Able to multitask and plan effectively.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 8+ years of experience in project management or a related role.
- A BS/BA in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- PMP certification is preferred.
- Experience with complex construction projects valued over $5M, including bidding, scheduling, and financial management.
This position is based at Aerolab's main facility. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.
