Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at Texas Health Resources. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol buildings and grounds to prevent and detect crime
  • Lock and unlock doors according to schedules
  • Provide individual and group escorts to and from parking areas
  • Identify and remove unauthorized individuals from property
  • Enforce campus parking policies and cite violations
  • Maintain compliance with Security policies
  • Pursue and detain persons involved in criminal activity
  • Fill out incident/offense report forms and compose narratives
  • Give directions to areas of the facility
  • Interact with police, fire personnel, patients, visitors, and staff
  • Provide vehicle assistance
  • Patrol interior/perimeter of campus and parking
  • Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
  • Report and escalate situations to the Threat Management team as appropriate
  • Provide quality customer service to Texas Health employees, visitors, and guests
  • Greets people with courtesy and respect using the 10/5 rule
  • Provides directions and assistance to employees, visitors, and guests
  • Provide general information regarding Texas Health campuses
  • Provides transport and escorts to and from campus parking lots
  • Responds timely to calls for service and emergency situations
  • Assesses the situation and utilizes appropriate de-escalation measures
  • Utilizes critical thinking skills and provides the appropriate level of force for the situation
  • Responds to and activates the appropriate emergency response code
  • Interacts with and provides assistance to Police, Fire, EMS, and other emergency staff as required
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security, or a closely related field preferred
  • 2 years of security or law enforcement experience preferred
  • 2 years of healthcare or education experience preferred
  • Driver's License Class C and insurable upon hire required
  • ACPI - Advanced Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 30 days required
  • Peace Officer upon hire required
