Heavy Equipment Operator

As a Heavy Equipment Operator with the City of Corinth, you will be responsible for operating specialized vehicles and heavy equipment to maintain City utilities and water/sewer systems. This role requires a high level of skill and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a wide range of specialized vehicles and motorized equipment, including front-end loader, dump truck, bulldozer, spreader, grader, roller, scraper, backhoe, and tractor.
Perform skilled and semi-skilled construction, maintenance, and repair work, including digging and filling holes, installing, repairing, and maintaining sewers, water pipes, valves, and hydrants.
Maintain vehicles, tools, and specialized equipment in accordance with safety regulations and procedures.
Haul materials and transport vehicles and equipment to job sites using various trucks.
Perform traffic control activities as needed.
Respond to emergencies and critical incidents outside of normal working hours.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Two years of work experience operating heavy motorized vehicles and maintenance equipment.
Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
Water and Waste Water Operator licenses from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with heavy equipment and specialized vehicles.
Knowledge of City policies and procedures.
Familiarity with OSHA safety rules and regulations.
Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
This role requires working indoors and outdoors at various work sites throughout the City. The ability to perform moderate physical work, lift, and carry up to 80 pounds is required.
