About the Role

Birdwatch is seeking a skilled Home Evaluation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our clients by conducting thorough property evaluations and assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site property evaluations to document condition, systems, and deferred maintenance issues
  • Develop a deep understanding of residential housing systems and be able to communicate effectively with clients
  • Build strong relationships with clients and provide personalized service to meet their needs
  • Identify and document major safety concerns and recommend routine preventive maintenance options
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure seamless service delivery and continuous improvement
Requirements
  • Broad property and maintenance knowledge
  • Experience in home evaluation/inspection (2+ years)
  • Trade certifications a plus
  • Superior customer service skills, including ability to manage challenging clients
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, self-directive, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work with challenging personalities with grace
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to recognize systemic problems and offer solutions to enhance and improve current systems
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays if needed
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, able to lift 75lbs+
  • Knowledge of geographic area (either Philly or DMV) required and ability to navigate the city
