Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

The Ewen School District is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to work with students experiencing speech, language, and communication challenges. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders, while working closely with teachers, administrators, and families to support students' educational and social development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on each student's unique needs.
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy to students in both individual and group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom and home environments.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust therapy plans as necessary.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide expertise on student progress, goals, and recommendations.
  • Offer training and consultation to teachers and families on speech and language strategies that support student development.
  • Stay current with best practices, research, and developments in the field of speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Michigan licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
