Speech Language Pathologist Job Description

Valeo Resources is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in Winchester, VA.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Speech Language Pathologist will plan and implement speech-language therapy for our students. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in speech language therapy or a related field and 1 year of clinical experience providing speech therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct speech and language evaluations on assigned students and determine speech and language appropriate service/therapy hours.
  • Develop and implement therapy plans and activities to meet identified goals and objectives.
  • Report to the Principal, Assistant Principal, or Clinical Program Manager.
  • Provide speech-language therapy services for assigned students, including individual and group therapy sessions, and/or consultation services as approved in the IEP.
  • Conduct speech and language evaluations and assess student abilities, and identify student speech and language disabilities and related therapeutic needs.
  • Develop curriculum, speech-language therapy plans, and/or related therapeutic activities.
  • Write speech and language goals and objectives for IEP.
  • Write lesson plans for assigned programs and students.
  • Develop therapy and teaching strategies to successfully incorporate speech activities to support each student's IEP and to facilitate the student's achievement of IEP goals and objectives.
  • Prepare materials for planned activities and therapy sessions.
  • Collect and record IEP and progress-related data obtained from therapy sessions and activities.
  • Evaluate students' achievements and progress pertaining to speech therapy and lessons, and document in monthly and/or 9-week progress reports, discharge summaries, and annual reviews.
Requirements
  • Masters or better in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
  • Licenses & Certifications: Driver's License, Speech Lang Pathologist.

Compensation

Based on experience and education. $7,500 sign-on bonus.
