Passenger Rail Mechanic Trainee

Drummac, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Passenger Rail Mechanic Apprentice to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on passenger rail cars and locomotives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform air brake inspections and troubleshoot issues with air brake systems
• Conduct daily inspections of locomotives and perform repairs as needed
• Troubleshoot and repair issues with passenger car systems, including toilet systems, air conditioning systems, doors, panels, lights, electrical systems, and brake systems
• Fill out regulatory and client paperwork as required
• Perform electrical tests and make repairs to batteries and electrical equipment on locomotives
• Communicate findings of inspections to supervisors
• Work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call as required
• Wear and use required protective equipment while working
• Take responsibility for own safety while on the job

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent reading, writing, and reasoning skills)
• Valid driver's license
• Trade school or formal railroad locomotive or diesel mechanical maintenance training preferred
• Knowledge of locomotive mechanical or locomotive electrical or industrial heavy equipment mechanical experience required
• Successful completion of a pre-employment screening process

• Hourly rate: $20-22
