Job Title: SCADA Software Engineer

Mewbourne Oil Company is seeking a highly skilled SCADA Software Engineer to join our team in Midland, Texas. As a key member of our Instrumentation and Electrical department, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining our SCADA platform, which enables our operators to interact with our production facilities in real-time.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented software engineer with expertise in Python, Java, and SQL to design, develop, and implement our SCADA system. Your primary responsibilities will include working with petroleum engineers to build new features, integrate new devices, and improve efficiency. You will also be responsible for maintaining our existing SCADA platform, ensuring it operates smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop new features for our SCADA system
  • Integrate new devices and technologies into our SCADA platform
  • Improve the efficiency and performance of our SCADA system
  • Maintain and troubleshoot our existing SCADA platform
  • Collaborate with petroleum engineers to ensure our SCADA system meets their needs
Requirements:
  • Python and Java development experience
  • SQL database management skills
  • Linux Ubuntu operating system knowledge
  • Git version control system experience
  • Object-oriented programming skills
  • Basic LAN networking knowledge
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Hands-on work ethic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and self-sufficient
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Inductive Automation Ignition 8.1 Perspective experience
  • Azure DevOps knowledge
  • MQTT Sparkplug B expertise
  • Industrial communication protocols understanding
  • PLC and HMI development software skills
  • Cambium radio networks experience
  • IP cameras knowledge
Benefits:

Schedule:

This is a full-time position, predominantly Monday through Friday, with some weekend work as needed. You will be required to travel to field locations, which may involve varying road conditions and weather.
