Job Summary

The Greenhouse Operations Manager is tasked with directing team leads and ensuring that all operational activities are performed to the highest standards. This role involves motivating team members to achieve daily and weekly production targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Food Safety Manager to ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are strictly adhered to.
  • Communicate effectively with the Team Manager regarding labor requirements and operational needs.
  • Input daily metrics to monitor production efficiency and labor utilization.
  • Implement the daily operational plan as outlined by the Team Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Food Safety protocols, and Employee Safety regulations.
  • Oversee staffing levels in agricultural areas, ensuring that the workforce is effectively deployed.
  • Facilitate training programs for team members to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain adherence to company standards and operational specifications.
  • Ensure accurate completion of paperwork and inventory management on a daily basis.
  • Assess operational efficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance greenhouse productivity.
  • Approve Time & Attendance records for direct reports.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Flexibility to adapt to various tasks and responsibilities.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate team members.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience, preferably in a greenhouse or distribution setting.
  • Familiarity with ADP systems is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is responsible for supervising Greenhouse Associates.

Work Environment

Work is conducted primarily in a greenhouse setting, which may experience varying temperatures based on external weather conditions. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times.

Physical Demands
  • Occasional climbing or descending of ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Occasional movement to complete tasks or transition between work areas.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Frequent repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers.
