Job Summary

The EMT's primary responsibilities include responding to calls, transporting patients to medical facilities, and providing care to patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal field staff and external customers.
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
  • Administer basic life support to patients and communicate with medical personnel at treatment facilities.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with company service areas and medical facilities.
  • Possess exceptional knowledge of service area geography, roadways, and traffic patterns.
  • Comply with all Company and customer policies and procedures related to patient care and transport.
  • Work efficiently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Operate ambulances safely and monitor equipment, providing updates to dispatch as needed.
  • Remain focused in chaotic environments and maintain a clean, professional appearance of vehicles, equipment, and person.
  • Assist with investigations of incidents and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Position Requirements
  • High school graduate.
  • Valid AZ Driver's License.
  • Satisfactory driving record in accordance with ABC Ambulance's Driving Policy.
  • Current state EMT certification.
  • Current CPR pro certification card.
  • Knowledge of the Phoenix Valley.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and understand basic math.
  • Proficient with PC's, mobile technology, and computer software and applications.
  • Polite and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to utilize time and resources effectively.
  • Reliability and teamwork are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.
  • Safety-conscious attitude.
  • Frequent ability to lift, carry, push, and pull greater than 100 pounds without assistance.
  • Intermittent climbing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling.
  • Exposure to weather, extreme heat, wet and/or humid conditions, noise intensity level, darkness/poor lighting, confined spaces, dirt/dust, odors, and other environmental conditions.
