Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure permit compliance by preventing unauthorized wastes from being landfilled or illegally disposed.
  • Provide on-site traffic control and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Assist waste collection truck drivers on pre-assigned and special routes to pick up residential waste.
  • Maintain and clean drainage ditches, and perform labor tasks as assigned in general maintenance, repair, or construction trade duties.
  • Perform manual labor and/or use hand tools and power tools to perform maintenance and repair to landfill structures and facilities.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and ability to secure a valid Florida driver's license at the time of employment.
  • Ability to obtain Landfill Spotter Certifications for spotters in C&D sites, landfills, and transfer stations from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) within six (6) months of employment.
  • Prefer applicants to have Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Working Conditions

This position may be required to report for work when a declaration of emergency has been declared in Polk County. You must be able to work out of doors in all weather conditions and terrains for extended periods of time.

What We Offer
  • Competitive pay range: $16.85hr - $24.44hr ($35, $50,835.20/annually)
  • Monday-Friday 40+ Hours Weekly (occasional Saturday/overtime hours as required)
  • Starting Time: 5:00 a.m.
