Operations Ranger

• Accountable for advanced maintenance and construction tasks within the Parks and Wildlife Department.
• Responsibilities encompass landscape management, facility development, equipment maintenance, and providing excellent service to park visitors.
• Operational duties may include procurement of materials, administrative tasks, and documentation.
• Adhere to state regulations and guidelines governing park operations.
• Utilize technology for communication, record-keeping, and reporting.
• Support special events, resource stewardship, and emergency management.
• Supervise volunteers and individuals participating in community service.
• Work under general oversight while exercising independent judgment.
• Comply with all relevant Agency, Division, and Branch policies.

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of three years in facility upkeep.
• Licensure: Possession of a valid class "C" Texas driver's license is required.

• Thirty semester hours from an accredited institution may be considered equivalent to one year of experience.

• Experience in public engagement, customer relations, trail upkeep, equipment servicing, and safety initiatives.

• Proficient in various maintenance practices and operations.
• Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
• Aptitude for managing cash transactions and enforcing park policies.
• Skills in operating and repairing equipment.
• Ability to develop and sustain safety programs.

• Work in a public park with flexible schedules.
• Respond to emergencies and engage in physical labor outdoors.
• Operate state vehicles while following safety protocols.
• Occasional travel may be required, including overnight stays.
• Adhere to departmental dress and grooming standards.
