GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
- Accountable for advanced maintenance and construction tasks within park facilities.
- Responsibilities encompass grounds maintenance, facility development, equipment servicing, and delivering excellent service to park patrons.
- Operational duties may include procurement of materials, administrative tasks, and office-related responsibilities.
- Adhere to state regulations and guidelines governing park operations.
- Utilize computer systems for correspondence, timekeeping, and reporting related to park activities.
- Support special events, resource management initiatives, and emergency response efforts.
- Supervise volunteers and individuals participating in community service.
- Function under general oversight while exercising independent judgment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Agency, Division, and Branch regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of three years in facility maintenance roles.
- Licensure: Possession of a valid class "C" Texas driver's license is required.
- Thirty semester hours from an accredited institution may be considered as a substitute for one year of experience.
- Background in public engagement, customer service, trail upkeep, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Proficient in various maintenance methodologies and operational procedures.
- Competence in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
- Aptitude for managing cash transactions and enforcing park regulations.
- Skills in operating and repairing equipment.
- Ability to develop and sustain safety programs.
- Work within a public park setting with diverse scheduling requirements.
- Respond to emergencies and engage in physical labor outdoors.
- Operate state-owned vehicles while adhering to safety protocols.
- Occasional travel may be required, including potential overnight stays.
- Comply with departmental dress and grooming standards.
