Patient Care Specialist

At Northwell Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Sr Patient Care Associate/4B to join our team. As a key member of our nursing care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and promoting a safe and clean environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with registered nurses to implement patient care plans and provide basic nursing care.
- Promote improved customer relations by communicating effectively with patients and their families.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and feeding patients.
- Perform various procedures, exams, and tests as required by the unit, while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and clean environment by adhering to infection control procedures and proper waste disposal.
- Transport patients to various departments as directed, while ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Participate in continuing education programs, surveys, and staff meetings to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Perform related duties as required, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and compassion.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Heart Saver Certification preferred.
- Demonstrated competency in EKG testing or venipuncture procedure preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Ability to operate medical equipment necessary to perform job duties.
- Ability to lift, turn, position, move, and restrain patients as required.
