Compensation and Benefits

The compensation package for this role includes a competitive hourly rate of $75-80 per hour, paid weekly. This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek, offering a stable and secure income.

Job Description

As a Medical Compensation Examiner, you will be responsible for conducting exams and gathering information to support disability claims for veterans. This will involve reviewing medical history documentation, conducting examinations, and capturing responses during the exam through a web-based form. All documentation will be completed electronically, and you will be provided with administrative time to ensure timely submission.

You will work independently and as part of a team to complete exams and meet deadlines. Your duties will include:

  • Conducting examinations and gathering information to support disability claims
  • Reviewing medical history documentation and providing one-time, non-treatment compensation and pension exams for veterans
  • Capturing responses during the exam through a web-based form
  • Completing all documentation electronically
  • Ensuring timely submission of exams and meeting deadlines

General Medical Exams may take anywhere from 45 minutes to several hours, depending on the number of disabilities being claimed. You will be provided with an approximate appointment length estimate for each scheduled exam based on the veteran's claim(s).

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have a master's degree in Nursing (NP) or have successfully completed an approved Physician Assistant (PA) program. Primary care experience is also required. You must be actively licensed, able to work independently and as part of a team, possess good interpersonal skills, and be willing to adapt to changing situations. Basic computer skills are also necessary.

A background in compensation exam or VA experience is preferred but not required. Module training will be provided. We encourage qualified candidates to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
