About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Medical Assistant - Patient Care Specialist at Southern Colorado Clinic PC.

As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare patients for examinations and treatments, while also assisting providers with administrative and clinical duties.

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Medical Assistant who is passionate about providing exceptional patient care and has excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by recording vital signs, medical history, allergies, and current medication taken
  • Assist providers with minor procedures, physicals, and administering injections as ordered
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and files
  • Coordinate lab tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures as needed
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff to ensure seamless coordination of care

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field (e.g., medical assisting, nursing)
  • Active certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from a recognized organization (e.g., AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT)
  • One year of experience as a Medical Assistant or comparable internship
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs) and computer software
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills

Salary Range:

$45,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications
