Job Summary:

This is an on-call position that provides essential support to Michigan State University's Infrastructure Planning and Facilities department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing food service, custodial, grounds maintenance, general labor, and other main support on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess customer bicycle problems and write up work orders
  • Perform bicycle maintenance and repair
  • Assist customers with sales and rentals
  • Operate a cash register
  • General cleaning and organizing of the work area and shop

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of tools and repair of bikes
  • Frequent lifting of 26 to 50 pounds
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience and knowledge of Infrastructure, Planning and Facilities and/or facilities structure, processes, and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate T-shaped competencies
  • A passion for bicycling and encouraging it
