Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Forklift Driver to join our team at Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana. As a Forklift Driver, you will play a critical role in supporting our outlet production efforts by safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to storage locations, ensuring efficient stacking and storage.
  • Verify the accuracy and condition of inbound and outbound shipments, reporting any quality variances.
  • Pull and prepare products for shipment, adhering to customer service standards and performing picking duties in an efficient manner.
  • Operate a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment to move products from staging and/or storage areas into trailers, loading and unloading materials with proper techniques and weight distribution.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area, inspecting and performing minor maintenance on equipment as needed, and recording safety inspections.
  • Assist in physical inventories, ensuring proper stock rotation and maintaining tight inventory control and security.
  • Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required, and maintain forklift certification.
Requirements
  • Current Forklift Operator certification or ability to obtain.
  • Familiarity with receiving, putaway, storage, picking, packing, and shipping processes to ensure efficient warehousing operations.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work well with others and make valued contributions to the team.
  • Mathematical aptitude and ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
  • Adaptability and safety awareness, with the ability to recognize risks and apply measures to control and manage them.
