Job Title: Substance Use Disorder Treatment Specialist

Join the State of Washington Department of Corrections as a Substance Use Disorder Treatment Specialist and play a critical role in supporting the recovery of individuals with substance use disorders.

About the Role:

This position is part of the Substance Abuse Recovery Unit (SARU) at the Monroe Correctional Complex, where you will work with a team of professionals to provide evidence-based substance use disorder treatment services to incarcerated individuals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct substance use disorder assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions, as well as education and process groups
  • Collaborate with other treatment team members to ensure comprehensive care
  • Document treatment progress and outcomes
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of treatment plans
Requirements:
  • Certification as a Substance Use Disorder Professional (initial and continuous unencumbered licensure in Washington State)
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, while exercising good judgment and promoting positive working relationships with incarcerated individuals, staff, and stakeholders
  • Experience and understanding of evidence-based treatment delivery practices
  • Professional experience using OMNI, SharePoint, OnBase, and other DOC tracking systems
