Position: Preschool Teacher
Work Schedule: Part-Time, Hourly, Monday - Friday
Reports To: Director of Preschool/WATCH

Role Summary:
The role of the preschool teacher is to guide one of the preschool classes at St. Andrew's. This individual should have a passion for working with children, thrive in a preschool setting, and be adaptable to daily changes. The teacher will serve as a positive influence on campus, reflecting Christian values to families and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Collaboration:
- Assist the Director of Preschool with various tasks each week.
- Participate in team efforts supporting church-wide events.
- Attend weekly preschool team meetings and other staff gatherings.
- Core Duties:
- Create and maintain a welcoming, organized, and developmentally suitable learning environment.
- Implement daily Bible curriculum and exemplify Christian principles throughout the day.
- Observe and document children's learning and development.
- Communicate with families regarding their child's progress and achievements during formal conferences.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the preschool curriculum.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Environment Setup:
- Prepare and dismantle the learning environment as necessary.
- Foster inviting spaces that inspire children to learn and play.
- Utilize preschool management software to share updates with parents, including photos and event information.
- Professional Conduct:
- Maintain a professional demeanor in interactions with teachers, parents, children, and staff.
- Educate children in alignment with the developmental philosophy and values of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.
- Classroom Management:
- Perform general housekeeping tasks to ensure a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Complete assessment reports for each child for bi-annual parent-teacher conferences.
- Compile yearly portfolios for children at the end of the academic year.
- Develop a personal growth plan to discuss with your supervisor for ongoing professional development.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Act as a member of a team committed to Christian service, striving to conduct oneself in a manner pleasing to the Lord.
- Proficient in using a computer, including Microsoft Office and Keynote.
- Availability for occasional weekend or evening events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Minister of Family Ministries or Director of Preschool.
Qualifications:
- Active participation in a Christian Church, affirming the mission and values of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education Units (enrollment acceptable).
- At least one year of experience in a preschool setting.
- CPR and first aid certification (training provided).
- Mandated reporter certification (training provided).
