Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluations: Conduct thorough psychological assessments to identify students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Reports: Prepare detailed and accurate reports based on evaluation results to inform educational planning and interventions.
  • Counseling: Provide individual or group counseling sessions as needed to support students' emotional and psychological well-being.
  • Consultation: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop and implement strategies and interventions for students' needs.
  • Collaboration: Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and other educational plans.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations regarding special education and psychological services.
Requirements
  • Certification: Valid Texas School Psychologist Certification or license.
  • Education: Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Previous experience working as a School Psychologist in an elementary school setting is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong assessment and report-writing skills, with the ability to effectively provide counseling and collaborate with educational teams.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with Texas state regulations and best practices in school psychology.
